Center Stage Chicago
Contemporary art, primarily photography but also installations. - This ambitious new gallery opened its doors with an exhibition on the Hejab, the practice of covering the face by women in Islamic countries, by 10 photographers. The work is politely non-didactic, though one could well infer that this custom is popular among the artists. D’Last gallery has a bent for the high tech and the slick. Expect this space to be a rising star. (Ralph Barton)
